Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Howdy Yall!! This was our final race for The Amazing Race. The top four competed against each other to move on to the finals at Beechgrove Public School. We were currently in second place coming into the final game. We traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was amazing!! There were so many diferent things to see and do there! We got to visit the Pyramid of Kukulkar in Chichen Itza, and it was beautiful!! Did you know that the pyramid had originally 91 steps, but now has 365 in total to match how many days there are in a year? We also got to chew chicle, which comes from the Chicozapote tree that people use to chew. Isn't that cool? We finished second place, with a time of 25 minutes, however did not go the finals because we had the worst flight time. Oh well, we had a ton of fun participating in the Amazing Race, and we will never forget it!!

Brazil

Howdy Yall!! This was our 11th race for the Amazing Race!! We traveled to Brazil, and it was absolutely marvelous!! We got to see the Amazon Rainforest, the largest rainforest in the world. Did you know 60% of the rainforest is in Brazil? We got to play a game of soccer, which is one of Brazil's biggest sports. We also saw the largest statue in Brazil, which is called Christ the Redeemer. It is very beautiful!! There was a very unique hotel we had to find, which is called the Hotel Unique. What makes this hotel so unique is that it is shaped like Noah's ark. This was a very short race, and we finished with a good time and tied for second. We can't wait for the next race!!

Chile, South America

Howdy Yall!! This was our 9th race for the Amazing Race!! We traveled to Chile, South America. It was absolutely beautiful!! For one of our activites, one of us had to eat dish called "Pebre" a famous food invented in Chile. Poor Clydesdale Christie had to eat this, and she hated it!! It's pungnent smell would turn off any person who would dare to try it. She eventually finished it, and then we carried on to our next activity. We also got to see the world's largest pool built at the hotel San Alfonso del Mar Resort. It was amazing!! It took five years to build this pool, and it is the same temperature of the ocean. We also had to play tennis, which is a very well known sport in Chile. We finished with a time of 11:33, and finished 4th overall. We hope to stay in the top four!!

Rabat, Morocco

Howdy Yall!! This was our 8th race for the Amazing Race!! We traveled to Rabat, Morocco. It was beautiful!! We had to build a sandcastle and search for a seashell inside the sand. Did you know that the most common name in the world is Mohammed? Near the end of the game, we were leading, and we yielded The Puckheads. However, even though we were the first ones on the 10th activity, which was the pitstop, we did not finished first. It was a little disappointing, but we still placed well. We had to find a hotel that was refered to as "Earth." It is called the Kasbah Tamadot. It was very unique, since all the rooms inside it were shaped as octagons, and it was absolutely beautiful!! We are looking forward to our next race on Thursday!!

Nairobi, Kenya

Howdy Yall!! This was our 8th race for the Amazing Race!! We traveled to Nairobi, Kenya, which is the capital city of Kenya. It was amazing!! We got to take pictures of animals on a safari, but in order to receive our next clue, we had to reach the campsite before sundown. Clydesdale Christie had to run 5 laps, which was very tiring for her! However this is only a small run for a 6-year old Kenyan! Did you know that the Kipchoge Keino High Performance Training Camp is currently training over 100 athletes for the next summer Olympics? That is a lot of athletes! We finished with a time of 23 minutes, and tied with Team Dance Pants for first. This was a very quick and tiring race, but we both think it was one of the best!!

Auckland, New Zealand

Howdy Yall!! This was our 7th race fot the Amazing Race!! We traveled from Beijing, China to Auckland, New Zealand. It was a lot of fun!! Before we went to New Zealand, Mustang Mel had to learn how to say 1 to 10 in Chinese. Afterwards, Mustang Mel also had to eat two fortune cookies in order to pass activity 3. Then we flew to New Zealand. What a beautiful place!! We both got to go scuba diving at the Poor Knight Islands, and learned about "land diving" which is similar to bungee jumping, except there is rope attched to the ankles. They land dive after the Yam harvest. If the rope attached to them is too short, then the land owner breaks his pelvis and legs. If the rope is too long, the land owner breaks his neck. If the rope is just right, then they're yam crops will thrive. We had a lot of fun today, and finished 4th place. We can't wait for the next Amzaing Race!!

This is a picture of someone land diving.
Scary!!

This is a fotune cookie that Mustang Mel

Howdy Yall!! Today we had a great race for the Amazing Race!! We traveled to Mumbai, India, and it was amazing!! The mosques and ancient buildings were so beautiful! There was one mosque that worshipped rats, and over 15,000 rats lived in the mosque!! Eww! Another activity we played was cricket, which is the 2nd most played sport in India. It is very difficult! So we decided to play golf, which is also one of the most played sports in India. Luckily, we reached activity number 3 first, which meant we were the ones that were granted the fast forward. We got 3 hours taken off our regular time, so we finished first with a great time. We are so happy that we had such and exciting and great race!!

This is the Taj Mahal, one of the most famous buildings in India.

That's a lot!  It was really fun, however my partner Clydesdale Christie was absent today, so a friend of mine took her place. Thank you Brianne for filling in her place! Some of the questions were tricky, but we finished with a good time and overall finished in second place! So far we had a good start to the Amazing Race, and hopefully we can keep it that way throughout the competition!

Bangkok, Thailand

Yuck! Clydesdale Christie had to eat
one of these nasty worms in order for
us to go to our next activity!
Howdy Yall! Today was our third practice for the Amazing Race. This was probably the toughest out of all of them. We were yielded three times, so we had to count all the way to 600 before we could finish the rest of the activities. We eventually finished, but we are still unsure of what place we came in. We wonder how our next practice will turn out.
